Someone on here has somehow managed to nick my username. I've seen at least two comments they've made in my name which I didn't write. This is one of them from the Boleyn thread: Any Old Iron 8:09 Sat May 19
Would whoever runs the site these days please sort this out and explain how it has happened.
And what kind of cunt would go to the trouble of doing it.
I sent a message last night but got no response.

Well I nicked my own old user I'd, when the site had a problem & many userid's failed. I just added a "." To the old userid, that would hardly be noticed by anyone else!

Depends on the choice of default font in your browser settings and whether or not you allow a website to over-ride these; on some fonts, 1, I & l are different - on my laptop, for instance, a 1 is quite distinct from the other 2, which may differ slightly in pixel width - not that anyone but a geek would notice that.

For some reason the user name appears exactly the same when viewed on a normal thread, but when you access the WHO database it shows clearly a '1' being used instead of capital 'I'
also there was another variation, i suspect from the same user
so it depends on what platform or software you are viewing it in

to be honest why would anyone other than a mate of Any Old Iron pretend to be him

Charley Im confused, These two posts have different user numbers but they look identical, are you saying that the "1 (one)" and the "l (L)" are identical when they appear here, Ill post this and see the results , great thread though by the way

It's quite simple, hover over the names, one has a space at the end (id 10365), the other does not (299128).
It seems that the original AOI created a user id with a space at the end!
